Overview

Publications is a popular section of the Legal Aid NSW website, linking users to relevant factsheets and resources and giving users the ability to order a physical publication.

Note: for website MVP, we recommend not updating the iFrame of the publications portal too drastically.

BR-2

The Publications portal will continue to exist as it is today and will be embedded onto a content page in AEM.

See designs below for recommended changes to the iFrame to improve user experience.

BR-3

The Publication portal is observed to be a separate web application running on .net framework.

BR-4

Existing publication portal integrations remain the same and are not managed by AEM (e.g. integration with Fuji Xerox when a user orders a publication).

BR-5

The iFrame integration uses the AEM out of the box embed component.

Screen 1 - ‘Factsheets and resources’ content page

Key user goals:

  • Use the keyword search to find relevant factsheets and resources

  • Explore factsheets and resources relevant to a particular topic

Design behaviour:

  • No change to existing iFrame behaviour on the existing site https://www.legalaid.nsw.gov.au/publications/factsheets-and-resources . Users can conduct a search using a free text field and filter down the search using ‘Topics’ and ‘Languages’

  • Users can alternatively select from a list of topics which will automatically show results relevant to the topic.

  • There is a banner underneath the iFrame that links to the Order a Publication content page (see Screen 2). This banner is part of the website and not part of the iFrame.

  • Users can navigate to other level three pages using the side navigation bar

Recommended changes to iFrame

A few iFrame changes have been applied from the existing iFrame

  • UI changes (see ‘Creative - high fidelity’ designs) including updating the font to Century Gothic, updating the colour of the search box.

  • Removed the ‘New and updated resources’ button in the iFrame

  • Added a heading ‘Search’ before the search box

Note: the high fidelity creative designs show what it will look like if new website components and branding was applied to the pages and is not required for MVP.

Screen 1.1 - ‘Factsheets and resources’ content page

Key user goals:

  • User wants to select a factsheet or resource to view it

Design behaviour:

Recommended changes to iFrame

A few iFrame changes have been applied from the existing iFrame

  • Updated the copy of the black text inside the box to be ‘A PDF version is available in’

  • Currently, on mobile the search results screen does not adjust to mobile which creates an inconsistent user experience. We recommend updating the iFrame to better reposition the search results on mobile (see mobile designs on the right)

Note: the high fidelity creative designs show what it will look like if new website components and branding was applied to the pages and is not required for MVP.

Screen 2 - Factsheet & resource HTML page

Key user goals:

  • User views the HTML version of a factsheet and resource

  • Download the pdf version

Design behaviour:

  • HTML page to align to website branding / format

  • Users can select the link to download the factsheet/resource in PDF. There could also be links to download from different languages if applicable.

Recommended changes to iFrame

This screen is not part of the iFrame.

Screen 3 - ‘Order a publication' content page

Key user goals:

  • User wants to place an order for a publication

Design behaviour:

  • No change to existing iFrame behaviour on the existing site https://www.legalaid.nsw.gov.au/publications/order-a-publication. Users search for publications and view the publication before deciding to order it

    • To place an order, a user must select write a number in the ‘Qty’ field and press the button ‘Order’. This will take the user to screen 3.1.
