Overview

Objective:

The rich text component allows for the use of long, custom text with allowances for HTML markup. Creative styling and formatting can be applied to text.

Use case:

As a content author I want to use rich text functionality so that I can create a more visually appealing webpage.

This component allows content authors to switch to HTML view and edit text in HTML view.

BR-2

The Rich Text component allows for:

  • Heading styles (H1 to H6)

  • Paragraph text styling

  • Primary buttons

  • Secondary buttons

  • Bullet point list

  • Numbered lists

  • Table styling with choice of number of columns or rows

  • Ability to add embedded images

If required to apply additional classes, content authors are able to switch to HTML view to apply the additional CSS class.

The following classes will be designed to allow content authors to select custom styles from a dropdown in the rich text editor:

For images:

  • is-left

  • is-right

  • is-full

For links (Button element):

  • CTA-primary

  • CTa-secondary
